Ecological Garden at Hillel Zur Elementary School

An ecological garden was established in memory of beloved Ohad Herrnstadt z"l at the Hillel Zur Elementary School in Netanya by his family in order to commemorate Ohad's love for nature. Ohad z"l, an alumna of Hillel Zur, was killed at the age of 29 in a car accident.

An emotional ceremony was held in the presence of Miriam Fierberg-Ikar, Mayor of Netanya and Honorary President of the Netanya Foundation, Samuel Sabah, Chairman of the Netanya Foundation, family members, teachers, and students.

Ohad z"l was a person who loved nature. His parents, Miki and Yaakov, decided to donate the ecological garden in the school where Ohad was a student, with the hope of inspiring the love of nature in the students.

The garden includes a garden-bed for growing herbs, an ecological pool, various plants and wooden tables and benches that create a soothing, green environment in the school.

The Mayor commented: "It was so noble of Ohad's z"l parents to establish an ecological garden that symbolizes growth and blossoming in a bustling school...I know that Ohad is looking down from heaven and is very proud of what his parents have done."
